La letteratura romantica nelle comunità sefardite orientali

Abstract

Riassunto: Il Romanticismo si diffonde tra le comunità sefardite orientali in epoca molto più tarda rispetto al resto dell’Europa, verso la fine dell’Ottocento, e si protrarrà fino all’inizio del Novecento; eppure rappresenta uno dei movimenti che condiziona maggiormente la letteratura sefardita moderna. Non esistendo un’ampia bibliografia sul tema, mi sono proposta di studiare la ricezione della produzione romantica che si diffuse tra le comunità orientali attraverso gli adattamenti e i rifacimenti delle opere provenienti dal resto dell’Europa, con l’obiettivo di determinare l’esistenza e le peculiarità di un possibile ‘Romanticismo sefardita’.

Abstract: Romanticism spreads among the Eastern Sephardim in a much later period than the rest of Europe, towards the end of the 19th century, and will last until the beginning of the 20th century; yet it represents one of the movements that most influences modern Sephardic literature. As there is no extensive bibliography on the subject, I proposed to study the reception of the romantic production that spread among the Eastern communities through adaptations and rewrites of works from the rest of Europe; the aim is to determine the existence and the peculiarities of the ‘Sephardic Romanticism’.
